Crisis Support Therapy Partners
Our Efforts in Uvalde
Serving the community of Uvalde, Texas since the fall of 2022.
At our most recent clinic, CST Partners treated children and parents who are direct survivors of the Robb Elementary school shooting on May 24th, 2022. Participants benefited from CranioSacral Therapy and Art & Sound Therapy.
One year forward in the healing journey among the community of Uvalde there is much to reflect on. While recently present for their 1 year memorial, we were gifted the chance to spend time with some of the families we’ve been able to offer support to. While with them we were moved by the comfort that had grown in them, not just a comfort of familiarity with us, but in a greater sense within living their lives.
Great tragedies have layers of impact, and every one of Uvalde’s 15,000 residents has carried at least some portion of the weight of the tragedy imposed upon them. From immediate survivors to their family and friends, to their places of work and play. The support they show as a community is a testament to their strength, but just as every weight is lifted, those muscles also need to let go and relax for restoration and repair. Fatigue happens not only in the muscles but also in the heart. Every breath of support that can be brought in provides great meaning in sustaining their enduring hearts.
Our efforts in Uvalde are dedicated to providing services that address the long-term effects of trauma. Adults and children alike approach us with a sense of curiosity for our work, and through those steps forward, they reconnect with an experience of safety and relaxation that may have felt out of reach before. Our clinic volunteers have truly cherished the looks of relief and comfort found in so many sessions.

Encouraged by so many who have asked for our return, we are preparing to bring another wave of support through our work in the fall of 2023. Our intention is to welcome as many as we can on their journey for continued healing and enhancing their strength, one breath at a time.
